The thousand-year old town of Daixi was founded in 1004, the first year of Song Jingde's reign. The name "Daixi" is related to landscape, streams and dams, and is one of the earliest towns in Huzhou with a long history. Bai Juyi, Qian Qi, Lang Shiyuan and other great poets of the Tang Dynasty visited Daixi and left many historical traces, such as the Jing She Temple, the cliff carvings of Shi Wu Keng and the inscription on the cliff of Fenghuang Mountain. Bai Juyi once left a famous line: "The only place that has never been visited is Shangqiang Jingshe Temple". There are many beautiful legends left here.

Wu Zu Tai Bo and three concessions to the world

Wu Taibo and his younger brother Zhong Yong were both sons of King Taibao of Zhou and brother of King Ji Li. Ji Li was a wise and virtuous man, and had a son Chang, who was a saintly and virtuous man. The king wanted to establish Ji Li so that he could pass the throne to Ji Chang, so Tai Bo and Zhong Yong fled to the mountains, and like the locals, they got tattoos all over their bodies and cut off their hair to show that they would not succeed the throne and would give the succession to Ji Li. Ji Li succeeded to the throne, and Ji Chang became King Wen. When Tai Bo fled to the mountains, he called himself "Gōu" (Gou) Wu. The local people thought he was a man of virtue and righteousness, and he was followed by more than a thousand families, who revered him as Wu Tai Bo.

According to the records of Daixi Town, during the Southern Song Dynasty, Yaowu Pass Gate was the place where the famous anti-Jin general Han Shizhong stationed his troops. At that time, in order to protect the royal family of the Southern Song Dynasty, General Han Shizhong and his wife Liang Hongyu chose to station their troops at Yingpan Mountain, 2.5 kilometers southwest of Daixi Town, which is where the present-day Yaowu Pass is located......Liang Hongyu, wife of Han Shizhong, was from a general's family, and she was a woman who loved both red makeup and arms. Inspiration. To this day, local legends are still told about her.
