As a staff member in the Beautéville, I remember when the I first arrived in Daixi, I were led through the old streets by two local partners. The somewhat dilapidated wooden doors look a bit old, and the moss-covered short walls are full of stories in the cracks. However, Old Street has its own flavor. According to my friends, there was a drama group who came to shoot a TV series not long ago!

I've heard that this ancient town is full of delicious food, and today I got up early to visit the legendary delicacies on the old street of Daixi.

It is said that the birthplace of Daixi soup dumplings is in this ancient alley.

The fragrance of freshness came from far away! As a foodie, I already cannot wait to taste! Small and cute soup dumplings, drizzled with spicy sauce and rice vinegar, and served with peppered bone broth, will make your stomach feel better and make you feel good all day long!

Ancient old streets, timeless deliciousness, I do not know how many people retained the nostalgia. Pack up all the food and give it to your partner in the office from home and abroad, from all corners of the world!

Everyone in the area knows about Old Granny's Noodles. It's a simple old house, with a great taste and affordable price. The lovely "old women" who focus on fried noodles, whether it's dry or soup noodles, both have a great taste. 

The plum blossom dumplings, which are said to have disappeared in legends, are said to appear every afternoon at Daixi! At a fixed time, at a fixed place, one would see an old man at the entrance to the alley, concentrating on selling his plum blossom dumplings!  

I heard that there is a girl in Daixi Mountain who uses unpolluted spring water, with a big pot to cook the black rice and black rice dumplings.

Also, everyone in Daixi loves to eat the sausage rolls, which mean "unity and peace". It is said that the most famous one comes from "Meifeng Restaurant", which is hidden in the ditch, but it is the most authentic local cuisine. Now there are several restaurants in Daixi town that serve this dish! The taste is just as good.

Fish dumplings are a traditional dish in Huzhou, but fewer and fewer people know how to make them nowadays. However, there is a mysterious uncle in Dailxi who makes fish dumplings with exquisite ingredients, and the taste is especially delicious. 

Every autumn, when sweet potatoes are on the market, the demand for Daixi's Mojia village’s vermicelli often exceeds the supply. After search on net, I found that many of the villagers in the area of Mojia village were immigrants from Wenzhou Rui'an more than 100 years ago. Especially during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, when the Japanese invaded Rui'an frequently, there were many people who migrated here. No wonder Mojia village’s fans are as good as Wenzhou's rice noodles!

The dumplings are made by mixing mugwort leaves, which are common in the mountains, with flour, and there are two types of fillings: bean paste and dried bamboo shoots.

As a thousand-year-old town, Daixi, a 173 square kilometers of land, is rich in bamboo, tea and bamboo shoots. In the past and present, as the most important wharf for mountain goods in northern Zhejiang, the raft here is loaded with boats, hunchbacked horse bells, the sound of coming and going is endless.
