What is CNAS? 

CNAS is the abbreviation of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, which was officially established on March 31, 2006. Formally established on March 31, 2006, it was integrated from the former China National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (CNAB) and the former China National Accreditation Service for Laboratories (CNAL) on the basis of CNAS, which is responsible for the assessment and accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories, inspection bodies and other related organizations. Quality system certification has a higher value and wider impact than ISO-9000 quality system certification.

In China, there are more than 400,000 manufacturing enterprises above a certain size, but only a few thousand of them have obtained CNAS accreditation for testing and calibration laboratories, which is a very low percentage. There are more than 4,000 cosmetic companies in China, and the number of companies that can pass this certification, including Procter & Gamble, is still in the single digits, and in the field of cosmetic OEMs, the number is even smaller!

The list of assessment items involved in the review is long. The preparation materials were numerous, the revision system documentation was complex, the number of mobilized technical personnel was huge, and the assessment field operation requirements were strict and precise, which was the "most in history". In addition, the assessment involved chemical analysis and general physical and chemical analysis, including sex hormone content, moisture, viscosity, PH value, refractive index and other more than 60 items, including 16 product categories such as moisturizing creams, skin care lotions, masks, skin care gels, shampoos, shampoo creams, facial cleansers, facial wash creams and lotions.

 After a two-day on-site review by CNAS professional review team, the review included: whether the laboratory operation system is complete, whether the laboratory equipment and hardware meet the requirements, whether the qualification of laboratory personnel is qualified, whether the laboratory technical capability is strong, whether the laboratory data report is accurate and so on.
